20-21 BUILD - 226 N 8th Street in Murphysboro, IL.

Today, Dec. 11, was a big day for us at Jackson, Union County Habitat for Humanity. We were thankful to escape the tornadoes that hit north and south of us on Friday night and left so many homeless. It made this day even more special for us as we turned the keys to this beautiful home over to Kirstie and her three sons. We have to go back and finish up some yard work so these boys can enjoy this BIG backyard!

We are grateful to the people who have come and worked with us on this home. It has been a rough Build with COVID forcing us to keep our volunteer numbers low to keep our crew safe. We would like to recognize Bob, our homeowner’s father. He contributed far more than the hours we were allowed to count to help build this new home for his daughter and grandsons. It was a pleasure to get to know him and work alongside him.

We would like to recognize our regulars... Susan, Mike, Dominic, Jim D, Jerry , Phil, Barb, and Art. And we were very happy to welcome some new regulars... the TWO Tim Fs, and Thom. We had others who didn't make it all the time but helped us with some of our heavy lifting... Nezar, Junaid, Jonnathon, Dylan, Jake, and the students from SIU's CESL Program.

We are thankful for our behind-the-scenes group who keep our budgets and pay our bills. Words cannot express the gratitude and respect we feel for you and for all the time and effort you give to our group.

Our biggest thanks go out to Jim and Dan, our site directors. Clearly, this wouldn't happen without them and we appreciate their tireless efforts.
